Allow users to chose whether they want to share their email address and explain the risk of consequences from a lost password w/ no email
Allowing users to remain a number in your system not an email address (aggregated or not?) would enforce anonymity. Although, a lost password would have no way to recover the account. . The juice is worth the squeeze I believe.

Agreed!, i also think allowing users to choose whether or not to use their email address or remain anonymous when voting or commenting on a post here and again explain the differences (pros & cons) between the two would also be beneficial to the users who prefer to remain anonomous as well as help others that might be unsure to decide on the posture they want to present for themselves...public or anonymous.
